Reaching the tip of Seoul

Standing 237m atop of Namsan Mountain, N Seoul Tower, also known as Namsan Tower, is a must see when you’re visiting Seoul.

Although you can take a bus or cable car to reach the location, I would suggest actually walking up to the top! Yes, it will take longer and your thighs may feel as if they’re burning in the depths of hell on your way up, but the memories you’ll make will be much more awesome than if you had taken the easy route of getting on a bus.

For drama lovers, this landmark has also been used in a variety of dramas. One that I can think of off the top of my head is Boys Over Flowers. I’m pretty sure they filmed the scene where Gu Jun-pyo and Geum Jan-di are stuck in an elevator up here. You can also see the tower in the background of a scene in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo.

The roof terrace at Namsan Tower (second floor) also offers a place for couples to visit and attach locks with messages as a symbol of their love. This would be such a cute place for a Valentine’s day date! But fret not if you aren’t in a relationship and want to take part in putting up a lock! I’ve also seen tourists visiting Seoul putting up a lock as a memory of their trip.

The view from the tower is also unbelievable. I didn’t go to the very top, but I was still able to get a beautiful view of the many districts of Seoul.

All in all, if you have the opportunity to visit Namsan tower, do it!
