A Year in Review

nye

This past year has been full of ups and downs, accomplishments and lessons that were learned, opportunities that were seized and chances that were not taken. All-in-all it was full of joy, laughter, and a sprinkle here and there of sadness and anxiety.

In order to focus more heavily on the positive aspects of my life, this year I decided to create a jar containing all of the things that occurred during the year that I was proud of or thought were very positive. Each time something great happened, I would write it on a piece of paper and would put it in the jar.

This way I was able to focus on the positives of the year. As a result, I felt like I had a more positive outlook on the things I was doing and the goals I set for myself.

Anywhoodle doodle poodle – since it’s the end of 2016, I thought it would be fun to create and share a list of favourites or best moments of my year with you all!

So without further ado:

1. Most memorable trip of the year

Those who have been following my blog for a while know that I went on a mother-daughter trip to Europe during the summer. This was hands down THE most memorable trip of the year. I was able to spend quality time with my mom, explore castles, go on adventures across countries, have my first train ride, and eat lots and lots of new foods.

2. Best movie of the year

Guys.

Guys.

GUYS.

If you haven’t yet seen Train to Busan it is a definite must-see. Definitely the best movie I’ve seen this year. It’s filled with suspense, thrilling moments, great acting, and moments where you’ll think your eyes have been replaced by waterfalls (*cough* who says I cried harder the second time I watched it? *cough*)

3. Best moment of the year

I can’t decide between two great moments I had this year, so I’ll tell you both of them! (hehehehuhuhuhu)

The first was when I had the opportunity of going on pilgrimage during May-June to the Baha’i World Center in Haifa, Israel. (if you’re interested in reading about my experience, you can read all about it here).

Secondly, I was asked to be on a student panel during orientation day (aka. CREATE) for students coming to my university – this was such an unbelievably surreal experience and I am so thankful to have been a part of it.

4. Favourite song of the year

Big Bang had their comeback recently so I’ve been listening to their new songs on repeat, although I’m not quite sure whether I would consider any of their new songs as my “favourite” of the year.

Instead, I think I’ll give the “favourite song” position to ZICO’s song “Attention“. Although this song is a few years old, I recently came across it and have been loving it!

What were your favourite moments of the year? Let me know!

I hope you all have a marvelous New Year! See you all in 2017!
xx

PS. I will be going on two exciting adventures in the upcoming year, so be on the lookout!
