Three things I learned today:
- Your feet will feel like they are being burned by the fires of hell if you walk too much. Conclusion: Walking is bad for your health (right?)
- McDonalds is delicious anywhere
- Ice cream should be considered as a crucial component of the food pyramid
I started off my day by heading off to the train station with my mom to buy our tickets for our trip to Budapest (leaving tomorrow morning) and Prague (going to be there next week).
Some snapshots from our walk to the train station:

It was on our way back from the train station that we came across the president’s home. And dayuuuuuum was it every big. Like I genuinely cannot imagine why somebody would need a house that large – any ideas? (One room for the president’s office, one for his bedroom, a kitchen, one guest room, and thirty rooms for his stuffed animals?)
Behind his house, there was a garden that was open to the public as well
Side note: for some reason, these statues reminded me of titans from AoT….
Anywhoooo
We then wandered off to find Bratislava’s Castle. It was while wandering into the castle and exploring its surroundings that I wondered what it would be like if we could actually ‘magic schoolbus’ back in time and see what life would have actually been like hundreds of years ago for the people of Bratislava. What would the castle life be like? Would there be war? Would the rulers be kind or cruel? Would the city be hustling and bustling with individuals wanting to trade their goods or sell their handmade crafts? What clothes would they wear?
Some glimpses of the city from the castle:
By the time we had left the castle, I was starving – so I opted for a traditional Slovakian meal:
😉
Re-energized by our ever-so-healthy meals, we walked to a mall and then headed back to where we were staying.
Aaaaaand I may have ended my day again with some ice cream…
xx
This city looks absolutely stunning!!! And I totally agree that ice cream is one of the most important components
Bratislava was never somewhere I had thought I would visit, but I am so happy I did! If you ever get the chance, I would definitely recommend this place! Although only a few days would be enough to see it in its entirety (as it’s not too too big)
