Let us try peace

Every day we hear about acts of terrorism, hatred, and oppression happening around our world.

It is time they stop.

The wars raging around the globe.

It is time to dissipate them.

The hatred that is felt towards others.

It is time to throw it away.

We, everyone on this planet, are all one family. When we hear of the deaths of those in France, of those in Lebanon, Nigeria, Yemen, Iran, or of those in any country affected by the monstrosities of this world, we feel the pain of losing another family member. Over the years, we have lost countless numbers of our family. It is time we stopped feeling this grief.

Let us all love one another.

Let us all stand together in harmony and work towards the betterment of the world.

Let us throw away our differences and come together as a united front.

Why do we feel the need to hurt others? Why is it that some want to bring about destruction and turmoil?

With each person that has died in this war of humanity, we have lost a brother, a sister, a beautiful soul.

Does it not pain us to see what is happening?

“During the last six thousand years nations have hated one another, it is now time to stop. War must cease. Let us be united and love one another and await the result. We know the effects of war are bad. So let us try, as an experiment, peace, and if the results of peace are bad, then we can choose if it would be better to go back to the old state of war! Let us in any case make the experiment. If we see that unity brings Light we shall continue it. For six thousand years we have been walking on the left-hand path; let us walk on the right-hand path now. We have passed many centuries in darkness, let us advance towards the light.” – ‘Abdu’l-Baha

Everyone – EVERYONE – on this earth matters.

So I request from you all one thing during these times of turmoil and sadness – let us all try to let go of our destructive thoughts; the hatred we may feel towards someone, the generalized stereotypes we may have, or anything else that may hinder us in our goal towards unity. Let us try to perform one random act of kindness every day and see where that will take the world.

Let us try and see what happens.
