Dear Diary [2]: It takes courage

It’s hard to always keep your head raised up, isn’t it?

But just because something is hard to do, does that mean you shouldn’t do it?

I’ve learned that if you don’t try to keep that head raised, it will keep falling lower and lower until you do not see yourself as worthy of anything anymore.
DON’T let that happen to you. EVER. When that happens, it’s very hard to get back up – although no matter what, if that does happen to you, make sure that you DO get back up.

We all have had those days when we feel like the whole world is against us. It could be our friends saying things that get under our skin, it could be our bosses or co-workers that get mad at us, it could be a multitude of things. I am sure that we have all also had those days when whatever we do seems to go wrong. But let me tell you this: Keep your head raised and have courage. Never let that courage of trying something new, of standing up to someone, or of going on an adventure disappear. Without that courage, what would we become? Probably a potato. Yup.

DO YOU WANT TO BE A POTATO???

No. No you do not.
Why? Because you couldn’t explore the world, you couldn’t see the beauty in everything, you wouldn’t be able to love, you wouldn’t be able to be confident in yourself, you wouldn’t be able to trust others and make proper friends. Don’t you want to experience all of the wonders and mysteries of the world?

A few years ago, I was that person that did not have their head raised. Through multiple events and circumstances in my late high school years involving betrayals and people using me, I did not see myself as worthy. Although, in hindsight, it was a great experience to learn from, I should never have let others walk all over me. If anyone is going through something like that – know that you will get through those tough times. You will look back on them and laugh.

But for now,

and keep that head raised up.

xx
